About
Us
ChickenGrease is music by folks for folks. It's sound has been nicknamed "Buffet Grass". The band is formed by two fathers; Dale Pyatt and Steve Thomas, and their three sons Justin Pyatt, Nathan Thomas, and Aaron Thomas. They got their start in February 2006 when Dale Pyatt came to Nashville to visit Steve and record three songs. The songs they recorded during that first trip were Midnight Run, Little Old Farmin Town, and Love, Peace and ChickenGrease. In fact the band's name ChickenGrease came from the first song they recorded as a group.
Dale and Steve soon realized they had something, and so they enlisted the talents of their three sons. Dale sings lead, and plays rhythm guitar, Steve sings harmony vocals, plays guitar, mandolin, and fiddle, Nathan sings harmony vocals, and is working on playing lead guitar, Aaron is on the bass, and don't forget Justin on the drums. Today they have recorded over 20 songs, are working on their second CD, and their second video.
These five guys are no stranger to the music business. Steve Thomas has worked with in the music business for 25 years. In the eighties he traveled and recorded with The Whites, Jim and Jesse, the Osborne Brothers, Del McCoury and the Lost and Found. In the nineties he worked with Barbara Mandrell, Aaron Tippin, Kenny Chesney, Brooks and Dunn, Lee Ann Womack and Lorrie Morgan. Dale Pyatt has been singing, playing, and writing for many years. Justin, Nathan, and Aaron have all been playing musical instruments since they were practically in diapers. So chek out ChickenGrease, and let us know what you think. Hopefully we will be coming to your town soon.
